There is a lot at stake when using an infrared sauna, which is why it is critical that you purchase a sauna from a company that has full sauna safety certifications such as ETL, CE, or RoHS. Sauna safety should always be a first priority. Infrared saunas are a great tool for improving health and fitness, but if not properly certified then there is a risk that they could do the opposite. Below is a list of our current certifications by companies authorized to approve the sauna safety standards in North America, Canada and the European Union.

	INTERTEK’S ETL SEMKO STANDARDS FOR THE UNITED STATES AND CANADA Electrical Testing Laboratories (ETL) was founded in 1896 by Thomas Edison and is one of the oldest product safety testing laboratories in the world. Certification by ETL and ETL-C assures you that all Signature models have been tested to meet both US and Canadian safety and performance standards. Infrared saunas are just one of many products that ETL evaluates and guarantees for public safety. At the same time, ETL has certified products for more than 100 years, providing certification marks that prove a product’s compliance to specific market requirements. ETL has more than 30 offices and laboratories on six continents and is a leader in global presence for product certification.
	CE CERTIFIED EUROPEAN SAFETY STANDARDS The CE Mark is a requirement for products sold to the European Market. The CE Mark identifies a product as complying with the health and safety requirements spelled out in European legislation and is mandatory for equipment operating in the European Union (EU). The CE mark is a mandatory European marking for certain product groups to indicate conformity with the essential health and safety requirements set out in European Directives. To permit the use of a CE mark on a product, such as certified saunas, proof that the item meets the relevant requirements must be documented. Sometimes this is achieved using an external test house which evaluates the product and its documentation. Safety officials put out an alert on uncertified infrared saunas. Read this before buying an infrared sauna. It highlights the importance of sauna safety and of buying a certified sauna. If a deal sounds too good to be true it just might be. The primary message of the warning is to make sure you are buying a certified saunas
	RoHS DIRECTIVE The RoHS Directive stands for "the restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment". This Directive bans the placing on the EU market of new electrical and electronic equipment containing more than agreed levels of lead, cadmium, mercury, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyl (PBB) and polybrominated diphenyl ether (PBDE) flame retardants.
